I designed and developed a simple REM sleep calculation app for both iOS and Android platforms. In addition to the programming aspect, I spent time researching other REM and sleep helping apps, learning how I could make mine more streamlined to the end goal of finding out when the user should wake up or go to sleep. I created a user flow before starting the visual design, and then created a high fidelity prototype to test the basic interactions.
Even though the app has the same functionality on both iOS and Android, their visuals are different because of certain software constraints and rules. Having to work around these was challenging but insightful to how the same problem of app development has been approached in two unique ways.
